WHY OTIKO DJABA IS BOWING OUT OF POLITICS

The former minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba who was made the Ambassador to Italy has disclosed her resignation following recent developments.

This has caused a lot of people to wonder why the former minister has decided to bow out of politics.

Take2live.com has uncovered the reason why the embattled minister has said she is leaving politics for good.

Before the (NPP) National election, Akufo Addo issued a directive to all his appointees to support and vote for Freddie Blay or get kicked out of his government, Otiko defied and ignored that directive, she told Nana Addo that, “We are not robots and cannot be pushed about like kids’’ and went ahead to support Stephen Ntim.

After the Koforidua congress, Otiko was summoned to the Flagstaff House and was queried for disobeying the PRESIDENT before Freddie Blay and John Boadu, Otiko got infuriated and had serious exchanges with the President and Blay, she refused to be cowered into submission, out of anger she told Freddy Blay to stay out of (NPP) matters since he is a complete stranger in the (NPP) and took her bag and walked out cursing them on her way out.

Her misbehavior in front of the President really got him angry and embarrassed so he made the decision to reshuffle her out of his government completely but at that moment John Boadu quickly reminded him that Otiko was one of the few Krobo’s in the government and thus kicking her out could send bad signals to the Krobos.

The Upper East Regional Minister was the one originally penciled for the role of Ambassador to Italy but a decision was made to rather send Otiko to Italy.
Otiko was not informed of the reshuffle. She only heard her reshuffle on radio and said “This man is VINDICTIVE”.

She confided to a source of her intentions not accept her new appointment with a promise to teach Akuffo-Addo a lesson
